  1. Does anyone have a good resource for finding out if a given commercial disc is single or dual layer?

    (short of checking them all myself?)

    Most of the retailers are hit or miss; they don't know if the back of the box doesn't say...

    checking only takes seconds. Just seach google with the movie title, and the keyword 'layer'

    Example: Die Another Day Layer

    You'll get a few hits with the layer density of the disc. The best info is usually under the DVD review type links. You'll find almost every new disk is dual layer. They do it to keep you from easily copying the disc.
    Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
