  3. I've got the same problem. I also use an APEX 660 and TMPGenc. If you watch closely the sound is in sync it's the picture that speeds up and slows down. It usually happens on scene changes or lots of movement. SVCD seems to work ok. Do a search on 'out of sync' or 'lipsync' and see how many others have found this problem and no explanation or fix.

  5. I have just noticed this also on ripped Internet movies on DIVX use TMPGE to put to a MPEG1 VCD. It only gets out of sync on my APEX 600a and APEX660, works fine on my Daughters APEX 500W and My Toshibia 2050 and on my Computer, I believe its an APEX Glitch, I have no problem If I capture it myself to an AVI then Encode to TMPGE myself or if I capture directly to MPEG1 using my Hauppauge PVR card.
Don't see the same effect if I use SVCD.

Some problem overhere with an Hiteker 600 (same as one of the APEX models). My other player Hiteker 810 doesn't have this problem.
Somehow DivX movies encoded to VCD have more trouble than DVD to VCD. Also NTSC formats seem te have more trouble than PAL format.
Conclusion. Some players do have an audio sync problem. The manufacturer has to make some firmware adjustments or you'll have to buy a new player.
