  1. U have an ac3 file with 2ch stereo when u look at it in virtualdub. Some say "yes" but most say "No" U can't get 5chDolby Digital from that source using programs like Besweet and HeadAc3...

  2. I do not believe that it is possible. You can get surround sound, but not digital surround sound. My mind is kinda blank right now and this is as good as I can explain it right now.

    If the 2 channel sound is encoded with Dolby Surround then you can decode a rear channel and a centre channel. From this you can use the rear channel for both rear speakers, the centre for the centre, and clip the audio on all channels below 150hz and use this for the LFE channel.

    All technically possible, but entirely pointless. instead just play back the stereo file, and set your surround amp to Pro Logic or Pro Logic II mode. This will do exactly the same thing.
