  1. Hi there guys,
I´m having problems with my ATI AIW 8500DV. When I hookup audio cable from my VCR to the external 8500DV connector, the audio gets terrible with a high frequency noise. If I connect the audio cable to my computer sound card, the audio gets fine. Although I can capture my videos this way, I would prefer using the 8500DV external connector, as I would be able to mix other kind of sounds.
I tried disconnecting MIC and other audio sources, but it was helpless.
Did anyone have this kind of problem? Could anyone fix it? Any guesses?
If anyone wants to "hear" the problem, one can get the video files (1M each) at http://www.rodolfo.org/sound.html This way you´ll be able to hear the difference on the audio when I connect the audio cable to the sound card and when I connect the audio cable to 8500DV external connector.
    Thank you all!

The wiring on the card is maybe wrong (internally hooked up from ATI card to soundcard), the wires may be bad, or the Windows audio controls are wrong.

On one of my cards, when capturing coax, I get a whine that is easily removed by a custom noise filter I made in SoundForge 6. I always play with sound files anyway.

Your motherboard or some hardware may also be causing this issue.

I think my hiss is because of a hard drive I installed. But I needed the HD, and can remove the hiss anyway. They are in REALLY CLOSE proximity in the case.
