Ok, I have been reading a bit and it seems that my problem has not come up in what I have read...I have a PAL mpg that I would like to convert to NTSC DVD:
File : 2.21 GB (0.0 B), duration 0:00:00, type MPG, 1 audio stream(s), quality 80 %
Video : 0.0 B, 2500 Kbps, 25.0 fps, res. 480*576 (16:9), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported
Audio : 0.0 B, 224 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 chan., 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported
As you can see, it's already in MPEG 2 NOT avi. Most of what I read is PAL conversion concerning avi's.
I want to play it in a standard dvd player (ntsc) and a standard television. I'd also like to preserve the widescreen on my television if at all possible.
If anyone can point me to a specific guide, that would be friggin great. I HAVE been trying a few things already but nothing is coming out right...Or not coming out at all!

BTW, I am assuming since the file is already in mpeg 2, then most of the work is already done...thats just a guess though...
