I purchased a Dazzle DVC (analog to digital) before I realized the all of the audio video problems it has when capturing from composite inputs. One of the most annoying problems is that it almost always looses the horizontal sync such that when I the top of the screen shows up on the bottom of the screen. However, sometimes this is the only problem with the capture & it is otherwise usable.
My question is how can I edit out the bottom portion of the screen (preferably after I convert it to mpeg) and then reconvert the resolution so it is still a VCD compliant mpeg. I heard this can be done with TMPEG but I haven't been able to figure it out.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. yes, tmpegenc has an option to crop your input file. you will have to load your video, select "settings" and then go to "advanced". select the "clip frame" option (double click)and adjust the cropping until the image is properly cropped. note: this will still give you a vcd compliant stream since you are still encoding to a vcd resolution (352x240 ntsc or 352x288 pal).

if you have to crop too much video and (with resize image selected) your image looks stretched, then you can try instead to use the masking option (under the same settings page).
