Anybody knows how good this writer burns cheap media like Nashua or Creation dvd-r? I know it works well with expensive media...

It wont work with most cheap 1x dvd-r media, cause it can only burn in 2x or 4x.

Burns my 1x Princos at 2X speed (with no modification) and can be firmware-patched to support a plethora of what you dub "cheap" media. If you know what you're doing (like a majority of users DO NOT in the media forum) you should have NO PROBLEMS. For the record, I use DVD Decrypter to burn dvd disc images. For audio/video_ts layouts, I burn using Disc Juggler. I don't use Nero, as this drive appears to not like burning to cheap media WITHIN NERO ONLY. I've successfully burned over 150 Discs with my burner, with my only 2 coasters coming from Nero attempts on my Princos... None of that "over 4 GB" crap either.

Okey...maybe not most 1x dvd-r media....but most RITEK 1x dvd-r media...

this drive refuses to burn dvd-r from Mirror, not sure who the manufacturer is fro thei brand. it burns dvd+rw with no problems.
