  1. My Nec writer didn't cause me any problems and was working perfect for 3 or 4 years until yestarday...
    I have to write a big Led Zeppelin concert in two DVD9 Disks, i buy one Verbatim and one Maxell, both DVD+R DL
    The Verbatim disk was written perfect, but when i put the Maxell the recorder didnt recognize it, and the BurnAware couldn't start, the recorder opened and i was prompetd to insert a DVD+/-R DL...
    i upgrate my firmware - nothing
    i download DVDFab 6 and it manage to write the second half of the concert but still i cant read/open it, on my sister laptop the disk is runing allwright...

    If you can help me i will be the happier thing in the Solar system, thanks

    Use only good quality Verbatim DL media, most out there otherwise is crap.

    Use imgburn to burn - don't crank up the speed, take it slow.

  3. Is there any way to make my NEC read the Maxell DVD ?

    The drive isn't seeing it for some reason. NEC's aren't the best readers - I have Sony Optiarc drives in my desktop machine, they suffer the same problem on some discs. I keep an old Panny drive (best reader that I own) in an external enclosure for just that possibility.
