  1. Hello,

I'm trying to convert a 23.976 progressive divx avi to dvd. The tools I use are virtualdub, tmpgenc and ifoedit.
First I add the textsub filter to the videosource in virtualdub and I start frameserving. Then I choose in tmpgenc wizard a ntsc dvd. The pulldown flag is set.
When I watch the dvd on my tv (my dvd player is set to ntsc) I see that my subtitles are not crystal clear, they are faded sometimes.
If I set my dvd player to pal, the fading is gone and the colors are a lot better, what does this mean? I'm sure the dvd is ntsc, but playback as pal is better???

    Is there a better solution?

You got a weird TV or DVD Player.
My AVI -> Any Format Guide is available here.
My Frame Resize Calculator (enhanced for Virtualdub) is available here
