  1. can anyone help me want to change the format of film from
    MPEG 2 to MPEG 1

    reason my DVD player doesnt recognise the MPEG 2 sound

    so i get great picture but it a silent movie
    can anyone help me
    I havent got much of a clue as to where to start
    so any help would benefit

  3. you will definitely lose quality by converting from SVCD to standard, compliant VCD

    ------

    should try VCD header trick first. you might be able to trick your player into playing those SVCDs by adding VCD headers, instead of SVCD headers, to your SVCDs. your dvd player might think it's playing a VCD when it's actually playing a SVCD

  4. Instead of downgrading the whole process to VCD quality, why not just encode the audio as AC3, that might solve your problem and keep the quality high as well.

    what i need know is some one to explain to a complete noob how to do these things
    poopyhead m8 me dvd plays the mpeg2 svcds but i get no sound have also tried them on a dvd recorder get sound but the film keeps on freezing .
    came to conclusion that too much info or wrong speed info for sound

    i know that mpeg 1 vcds work as have got some and they play ok

    andkiich how would i go about changing a mpeg 2 file ( film ) so that just the sound changed to AC3

    that reminds me...you downsample your audio from 48 Khz to 44.1 Khz, right?
