I have been capturing some video from my VHS tapes and turning them into DVD's. Let's say I wanted to give some copies to my friends or even sell some to people I know (these are not movies..they are mostly sports). So, obviously I am looking for the most compatible format for standalone DVD players. Even though +R is better? I have read that -R is more common and more compatible? So should I definately go with DVD-R instead of DVD+R? Any opinions would be great on this.

    Thanks.

  2. You starter of Format Wars!

    1) Generally speaking, DVD-R media is cheaper,
    2) At this moment in time, DVD-R is more compatible.

There are several threads regarding this subject on this website. Try a forum search, you won't be disappointed with the information, or the entertainment!

    Yeah ok, will do.

I'm not interested in starting in Format wars, I could care less which one I use, I just one the one that is most compatible.

I'll search and see what is out there.

    Thanks.
