One of the things I like about DVD Shrink is the ability to lower the quality of the menu and extras to allow more quality for the main movie. As far as I can see CloneDVD and DVDFab do not have this option. Do any of the other similar (and newer) tools to Shrink offer this option? Thanks.

DVD Rebuilder has something like Steal Space from extras or Reduce quality extras. I can't remember exactly. I'm not at a computer with it installed but I'll check for exact wording later. You'll get better quality with dvd rebuilder regardless.

Just rip the complete DVD with DVDFabDecrypter, then open that with DVDShrink.

Right. That is what I do now. I was just looking for more knowledge and to know what options/alternatives are available.

Ripping the entire disc THEN transcoding from the HDD is faster than decrypting while ripping while transcoding via the DVD drive anyway. I don't see any major upsides to upgrading to payware personally.
