    Hi

On later versions of Nero than 5.9.9.9 I have a strange problem.
The VCDs I create play fine on a standalone DVD player, but on the PC PowerDVD says the disk is damaged and does not play them.

They must have changed something after this version to create this problem.

    BEWARE!!

  3. Oh why! god why! in heavens name why are you using NERO to create your VCD files ??

There are so many perfect and excellent guides out there, and NO ONE will recommand you use NERO for VCD purposes, why do people insist on going the "easy" way ?

The reason being I have always used it and had never had ANY problems before. Only after updating to the newest versions did I start to have problems.
I don't make menus or chapters so saw no need to use any other program. Nero had always served me well, no coasters in a couple of years.

If there are other ways to go why not just advise me instead of belittling!!

    IF IT AIN'T BROKE......

And you refer to using the guides.

The first listed one on this site for authoring to VCD is NERO!!!!!!

    not being sarcastic sefy???

i've used nero ever since i started burning video....nero hasn't failed me...its (S)VCD templates are extremeley easy to use...friendly GUI, etc... as long as you don't let nero do any encoding, it should be fine.

even now, nero express works great at burning DVDs.

Well I don't use the encoding part

I use Procoder, TMPGEnc or Mainconcept to encode.
I was only using Nero to burn.

My suggestion would be to go back to the version that created no problems [Just because there is an update dosen't mean they fix one problem and create another]

    Just my 2cents..........
