I'm trying to burn dvds of some things, and suddenly, Nero is telling me it cannot do this due to my free trial for an mpeg4 encoder is over. The thing is, I don't think I've been using it, or even asked for it. I've got the mpeg2 codec and I thought that was all I needed. Here's the actual message that pop up:

"The file 'C:\Program Files\eMule\Incoming\Terror Of The Tongs WS.avi' cannot be used because not all the necessary licenses have been activated. Please follow the instructions on the screen to activate your license. After the license has been successfully activated, please restart the application and try again."

(The above message pops up after a notice from Nero saying the 30 day trial of the mpeg4 codec is over, and that I would need to register the proper license(s) to continue.)

Any tips? And please, don't say I have to purchase the mpeg4 codec from them now. The mpeg2 codec I have is thru them and I thought that was all I needed to be doing what I've been doing for the last month+ (I thought the mpeg2 was passable enough for my purposes).

    Thanks,
    Ben

If you just want to watch AVIs on your computer,
then you don't need the Nero bundle at all. And if you
intend to produce compressed AVIs, then you keep not-needing to use Nero.
