DEMUX AND REMUX FILES

PLEASE BE GENTLE, I'M NEW AT THIS, CAN ANYONE TELL ME STEP BY
STEP HOW TO DEMUX A VOB FILE INTO AN AC3 FILE AND M2V FILE AND THEN DOING NOTHING ELSE, PUT THEM BACK TOGETHER TO THE VOB FILE AS IT WAS. EVERTHING I HAVE TRIED HAS FAILED, I GET ILLEGAL MPEG FILE TO INVALID AUDIO FILE EVEN WITHOUT TOUCHING THEM IN ANYWAY. I USE IFOEDIT TO DEMUX AND I HAVE TRIED TMPENG TO REMUX . ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.........

I would use Smartripper following this guide:

This will allow you to demux on the fly and you will have your ac3 and m2v file.

As for remuxing, I guess you could continue following that guide and use Spruceup to author your dvd ending up with the audi and video ts folders or you could use Goldwave to convert the ac3 to wav or something and then remux with Tmpegenc.
