I'm about to buy a DVD-burner and have a question...
If I have a .img or .iso file that I want to burn, does it matter if I burn it to a DVD-R or DVD+R...?
Is the DVD-format somehow preset in the .img file or can I choose whichever format I like...?

Find out what media is played by your dvd player first off. https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
If it plays either then I would say dvd-r it is cheaper for the media. Or even a multiple format burner. Rest assured the image has nothing to do with what you burn it on.
