DVD won't rip

I rented ''Liar Liar Collector's Edition'' hoping to rip it.
I put the DVD in my Cd-Rom drive and it didn't recognize it.
My drive acts the same way it would act if there was nothing in it. I also tried to rip it with SmartRipper but it gave the error ''No DVD Found''. I also tried my CD-RW Drive and the same happened.

Please Help

don't put it in the cd-rom drive.
put it in the dvd-rom drive yo.

I believe that what statuspending is trying to say is that you need a DVD-ROM to read a DVD (a CD-ROM drive can not). There are a lot of inexpenisive DVD-ROMs on the market (Delta, Pioneer, Panasonic, etc). Take a look at http://www.pricewatch.com

heh...when i saw the title to the post "DVD won't rip"...i naturally assumed that maybe the DVD-Rom wasn't able to unlock the DVD or get the CSS key from the DVD....

Hi there,

I do have the problem you describe (Pioneer 303 SCSI under W2K). Do you know something about this? PLease help or let's start a new thread. Please. I can only rip discs that have no CSS on them (mostly porn).

ralfbeckers, try playing the DVD first for a couple of secs....your DVD-rom drive needs to get the CSS key from the DVD first...so just play the DVD and then open up your ripping program
