    Well, it's not your monitor. That won't keep your machine from booting.
    I'd not jump to conclusions w/ the mobo, yet, either. Possible power supply, why it quit at just this point I don't know. It's a 2.4, is it still under warranty? If so, get it fixed by them.
    If out of warranty, and you are comfortable inside the case, pull all the device power and data connectors, just leave the video card connected to the monitor.
    Click the power supply switch to the off position then back on and push the "start" button.
    Watch the CPU fan to see if it budges, if it doesn't actually start up.
    Now, I have been told by phone techs to pull the "reset" wires off the board and to jumper the two pins with a small screwdriver, and push the start button again.
    The idea is to "train" the ATX power supply. It seems to me the reset button does the same thing, momentary short, so it should work also, but I haven't tried it, and if you don't have a "reset" button, moot, anyway. A lot of machines don't.
    There is a tester for ATX power supplies. They run 12 bucks, one site I have been to, as I need 2 micro ATX PSs for a couple machines I have in for repairs.
    Anyhow, PS is cheaper than a MOBO, so try a new PS first. If the board actually did go, it never hurts to have a PS in the cupboard, as well as a good CPU fan/heat sink in stock.
    Sorryto ramble, but not a short subject.

  4. Thanks for all that info, I found out the problem;

    It was my MB, it died prematurely, but then again when I bought it I was told it was a new brand (8 months ago) just to find out it was an old ASUS PT-533b model. I was disappointed but then again I made my PC custom made. I took it to tech support and they gave me the GIGABYTE P4 Titan 865PE model (from another retailer) and said it was released in early june. I am now in conflict with another problem though, Since XP is picky on the MB techs, Im going to do need to do a new fresh install without reformatting, but my Partition is split into 2 drives, so thats a conflict and now I either have to get a new drive and act that as primary and move the old drive to the new one so I wont have to reformatt... OR.. i need to reformat.. Im confused yet stressed. I had to buy new memory aswell, this new MB doesnt support RAMBUS, so i had to buy DDR Ram.. ok well if anyone has any questions please let me know thnxs
