  2. I don't know what you're trying to do but a BIN file is an executable or program file so maybe just double click on it to run the program/utility or whatever it is.

  4. a .bin file is usually a disc image, commonly CD. They are often accompanied by a .cue file. This is a small text file that provides instructions to t CD burning program on how to put this image back on to a disc. If you have this file, then you could burn it to CD. If not, do as secretagent suggests and get isobuster. Then search the forum fo instruction on using it to extract the bin file contents.

    if you had a tar file and extracted it to a bin file -- that bin file may be a bit different thing than the "normal" bin file fouind for cd back ups ...

    it might be a only a BINary file period for use with linux/unix
