  1. OK, I've been using TMPGEnc for over a year now with no probs, but recently, I can't adjust the sorce range anymore? Like the first half of the movie is ok, but everytime, when I move the slider to somewhere in the second half of the movie, TMPGEnc closes. Any ideas why? This is really frustrating. Does anyone know any similar programs like TMPGEnc that does the same thing? Thanks.

Yes, my incarnation of TMPGEnc crashes too, if I move the slider so select source range - just like VirtualDub does on occation. The cure is not to use the slider(s) - move around by entering time in the text fields instead.

  5. Mine used to never crash when I moved the sliders, up until recently. I tried not using the sliders and just entering the numbers before, it will start encoding, but once it gets to a certain part in the second half, it will get an error or crash and stop. I can't encode the second half of my movies!

Yes, it will freeze and/or get some error while encoding and shut the program down or freeze it.

Try moving the Direct Show to 2 and the AVI VFW to 0, and see what happens.

Do not know about DVD2AVI, but I do know Video Studio can convert to AVI, SVCD, VCD, and DVD files.
