    I was attempting to convert VOB to MPG. After selecting the VOB set and the location to which the MPG would be created, I received the following error information. HELP!

    have you ripped the dvd? or is it a homemade dvdr?

    When we say commercial, we usually mean professionally authored for a studio, and pressed with copy protection. Yes, you paid for yours, making it a commercial enterprise, however it will most likely have been authored with the same tools many of use here, and burned to standard blank DVDs. I have seen some pretty funky structures created by people doing their own authoring and encoding.

    I would start by copying the Video_TS folder to your HDD using Windows Explorer. There is no copy protection to stop you doing this. Once there, run it through FixVTS to make sure the structures are sane. Finally, try again with VOB2MPG.

    You could try use a ripper then like dvddecrypter or dvdfabhddecrypter and see how it works.
