Read - Sonic MyDVD, Arcsoft ShowBiz, and NEC1100A DVD Burner

Just got an NEC1100A for $139. I also use Sonic Mydvd ver4 along with Arcsoft Showbiz. Not a bad software to do basic authoring. However, once I was finished editing my video from my DV camcoder, I burned the final project with Mydvd using TDK +R media. It would not work on my APEX 1200 dvd player - "not recognized".. I tried another brand of +R media and would not work. Finally tried it on a Sony +RW media and it worked fine..Whats up with that? Why cant I use cheaper +R media ?

Are you running the latest firmware? I think it's 10GE or something like that.

Anyway, I've used the 1100A with MyDVD and the +r's have worked fine with Verbatim, Maxell and Imation. FYI only

Compatibility largely depends on which media you use. I use my NEC1100A burner to burn on FUJI +R/+RW dvds that only work in Sony DVD Players -- which is the only kind of standalone player I have.
