With DVD-R media I find that it's not possible to create multi-sessions. Unlike CD-R media that can have files added later if there's enough space, DVD-R's seem to be a one time record situation. I am using Nero for recording to my DVD-R's. The software states that multi-session is a problem except with Windows XP. I use Windows 2000.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

my first thought is the use of the word "some" - you will have problems with "some" dvd-roms and "some" operating systems.
I would get a dvd-rw and try it out. worst case, it doesn't work, you wipe the disc and re-burn it.- housepig

I did a multisession DVD-R once. It read in my burner (Pioneer 104) but not in my dvd-rom drive (an old Sony 8x)....mind you, my sony doesn't read DVD-RW either so I would say that it would depend on the age of your ROM drive....
In short, you should be fine unless it is a disk you want to send to someone else. Worst case it will still be readable in your burner."Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless."

Finalizing is necessary to read the disc on a SETTOP only
However, the only drive that reads a multisession surely, as bartman observes, is the one that wrote it!
