  1. I'm using TMPGEnc with the following options for the output file:

    - Converting to NTSC VCD (Not FILM)
    - Video Overlay mode is Fullscreen
    - Simple Color Correction
    - Noise Reduction in 'High-Quality' Mode

    None of that aside from Video Overlay is probably important, but whatever, I know very little about it ^^;

    Anyways, the source file is a 640x480 (!) 24 minute DivX AVI, and it's getting shrunk to 352x240... this is not a problem though.

    The actual problem is when I play the VCD in _ANY_ television, there's probably... 5-15 pixels cut off of each side (each side loses the same, as far as I can tell).

    Any idea WHY that margin is off the TV's display? Sorry if that was confusing at all... if I need to clarify something (which I more than likely do), lemme know.

    Thanks for any help!!

  2. This is called overscan and all tv's have it to varying degrees. Search the forum for overscan you will find many threads on this topic.

  3. Here's a question about the overscan...

    I've noticed in the searches that alot of people suggest using Center (Keep Aspect Ratio), and that should put the borders on the MPEG and make it fit perfectly -- funny thing is, when I do it, the original source basically just gets cropped from the center of the video in that 352x240 resolution. Confusing you at all? Sorry if I am ^^;

    Any idea why? I've also seen Fullscreen (Keep Aspect Ratio 2) as a suggestion, but I can't really try all these as encoding that 24 minute video took me well over 13 hours :S

    Thanks for any further help!
