Virtualdub opening H264 encoded file

Hi there,
I'm trying to open a file (i want to split it), but after opening it, the input/output is black. The file is an .MP4, encoded with H264 MPEG 4 AVC. The weird thing is I can open .MKV files that are encoded with the same codec and they work just fine (I can see the input).

EDIT: I reopened the video using the Quicktime plugin, now it works !
