    Hi!

I just put up a new system, have no money anymore but a 2600+ now...

I reinstalled XP, Nimo Pack, newest DivX, XVid Codes and wanted to try the speed of my new baby... But i can't convert DivX to SVCD anymore! I can convert the video, but TMPGEnc cant read the audio from those files, same with VDub ("can not open, or unsupported"). So i think i have a Codec Problem, because some files work properly. It just doesnt work with DivX files (maybe only those with AC3 sound, couldnt test that). Maybe its just some cheap codec i don't have, but i didnt need anymore than this before, Nimo usually was enough I believe. But i didn't install much sofware yet, so it could be something that comes along with some app...

Playing those files is no prob, theres video and audio in Media Player.

Can anybody give me a hint what to do?

    Thanks a lot!

    Merc

gspot tells me that everything is fine. Like i said - no problem PLAYING those files, only converting them. I just installed a new AC3 codec, but it still doesnt work.

Extract a wav file from your source Avi using Goldwave (just load the avi then save), use the wav as your audio source.

  5. TMPGenc can not read mp3 or ac3 audio streams (actually it can read some CBR mp3 streams, but most divx/xvid sources use VBR mp3's).

From a time/speed standpoint it's always best to encode the video/audio seperated as well.

ok, goldwave worked so far. Didnt know TMPGEnc cant read from most divx streams - seems i had luck with most videos i downloaded. But i still wonder why goldwave can extract the audio, and VDub, which I used before for audio extraction, doesnt work anymore... Now, as long as i come to an end, i shall be satisfied

    Thx alot guys!
