    Hi all,
    I have an .avi movie encoded as DivX3 Low-Motion, with audio MPEG-1 Layer 3. File length correct. All these from Gspot. Using Divfix there are 4 bad frames. No VBR errors on opening the file in vDub.

    I am using TMPGEnc 2.512.52.161 to convert to a format for VCD. TMPGEnc shows the file as 30fps when it is 23.97fps.

    I have tried to convert by both extracting the wav film and also by just using the avi file.

    After conversion I get the dredded progressive synch.

    Any help would be appreaciated. Do I treat a DixX3 Low-motion film in a special way from DIvX 4 or above? Are there any other Encoders which may treat the file differently.

    Regards
    Mandeep

    Shouldn't be any special treatment required. I would suggest skipping the TmpGenc wizard and using the supplied NTSCfilm VCD template. Use a seperate file for audio is often advisable too, though not always necessary.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Start TmpGenc, cancel the wizard. The clcik the load button in the bottom RH corner of the TmpGenc window. Select the VideoCD (ntscfilm) entry and click OK.

    Then select your audio and video sources in the dialogs at the bottom, setup up the output file name and click start.

  5. nearly there

    but use this option

    1st. decompress avi, with a decompressor , it only decompreses the audio side so vdub dont get any errors (i can send ya doc and prog)

    2nd load vdub and load the deompressed avi

    3rd goto file>file informatiohn and write down fps (framerate) and film time mins

    i.e.

    23.976 = ntsc film
    29.970 = ntsc
    25.000 = pal

    then in the tmpgenc wizard, select the correct frame rate 1st

    now i could rattle on about the same procedure again and again, but i have written a detailed doc on how to sort this aout, as there are so many peoples that are experiancing the same kinda errors/probs

    PLEASE email me and i will send it to you and the decompress prog
