    The short story:

-Started with a 7.5 GB movie (DVD format, i.e. VIDEO_TS) and wanted to shirnk it to 4GB (again DVD format).
-Selected the quick preset in FFmpegX and the proper bitrate
-15 hours later, it had created the .mpv file, .mpa file and merged them into a .mpg file (which plays in mplayer)
-Then it created the directory structure for the resulting DVD
-then the shell exited with a seg fault, I tried resubmitting the command but it failed again in the same fashion. I tried using the .mpg file as input to FFmpegX, but it attempted to create the .mpv and .mpa files all over again. I did not want to wait 15 hours.

Here is the command that failed:

    sh: line 1: 1403 Segmentation fault ./ifogen -A mp2 -o VTS /Users/admin/Movies/smallMovie/test.mpg >/Users/admin/Movies/smallMovie/test.DVD/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.IFO

Please let me know what I can do to help in debugging this problem.

  2. I'll fix this soon, in the meantime, you can use Sizzle to author your .mpv/.mp2 to DVD.
