    How can I convert mpeg ( 1 not 2) with audio to avi with audio??

    use Virtualdub

    Open file with VDub and "Save As."

    ensure audio is "Direct Copy" and, I forget sometimes, but I believe you may have to put video in "Full processing mode." Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

    Virtualdub will convert mpeg-1 but not mpeg-2....
