  1. When I convert a file to VCD/SVCD it seems to work perfectly on my PC, but on my DVD player some errors occur:

VCD: Video and Audio "jerk" or "snap" during playback. Harsh high pitched sound comes with that sometimes, making the movie unwatchable.

SVCD: Movie plays fine at some points, but goes horribly pixelated and sounds out scratchy and high pitched noises. Sometimes it seems as if the movie flips from playing back to the title screen at points as well.

Any idea whether this is a problem with my conversion, burner or the player itself not supporting something?

I use TMPGEnc to convert the file to mpeg, then Nero Express to burn it. My DVD player is Sanyo DVD-7201. Any help here would be greatly appreciated, I've been having these problems for months and have not yet successfully made a VCD/SVCD to play on my DVD player.

  2. Try burning at a lower speed, or try different media.
