  1. Help.. I have a Sanyo VPC-CG20 and cannot get the recorded (HD) video to play back on my PC.. either the Windows Vista (see my profile) or an XP machine. The playtback appears to be in slow motion and is very distorted.. teh picture does display but has alternate lines (maybe 10 pixels high each) slightly offset.

I have tried quick time / VLC / Windows Media

I don't think it is the performance of my machine.

I am assuming it is something to do with the codec but do not know what to install of where to install it (I am pretty new to all of this).

I wil try to get a screen capture and upload it of that wil help.

    Media info..

samsung is a company that never wants to pay licensing fees so they go their own way with oddball encoders. try installing ffdshow and haali media splitter and see if it improves.

  3. fourcc = MP42

ffdshow includes an MP42 decoder. Also the old Microsoft Mpeg 4 Part 2 codec.
