  1. I have easy cd creator 6, I currently have a divx file which cd creator will turn to a vcd or dvd automaticly. I am going to turn it to a vcd but the file after converting is roughly 1.30 gigs for svcd and 1 gig for vcd. NOw converting is not the issue, how can I split the file to put them on 2 cd's on my Pc. Thanks!

  2. Firstly I would suggest you use TMPGEnc to create your vcd compliant mpeg file. You can then use the same software to split it into 2 parts. TMPGEnc is an excellent encoder which will give you much better results, it is also free for mpeg1.

  3. Tripps22 - I totally agree with Craig Tucker (and I think almost everyone else here will).

It's really worthwhile taking a bit of time to learn to use TMPGEnc (and it's a really user-friendly program anyway) rather than using a CD-burning app like Easy or Nero etc.. to convert your video. They're great for burning (V)CD's etc.. but not many people will sing their praises as video encoders.

Trust us, the difference in quality will be very noticeable even to the most forgiving eyes!

In addition - you can use the 'Source Range' function in TMPGEnc to set up two 'batch tasks' to create two VCD/MPEG-1 files from your original source - saving you the trouble of having to split a big MPEG at the end.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.
