  1. I have tried installing as directed including all the stable binaries stuff, but it sodesnt seem to work.

I set where the file i want to convert is and then where i want it

i choose the quick preset for dvd pal but it doesnt do anything, a terminal window opens but just says "encoding started at....." and the doesnt do anything more.

I want to convert a vob file so that i can use it in final cut pro and then reburn the dvd.

I have downloaded tons of these little programs which claim to do it but i am not having any luck. They all seem to fail of have errors on them.

It seems ffmpegx is the most comprehensive packages but i cant get it to work properly. I dont want to resize or split the movie.

The movie was burned in idvd which was edited in FCP, i have lost the original files and need to add a scene in the movie.

    Any ideas?

I have quicktime pro and the mpeg2 playback thing, but when i open the vob in quicktime i get no audio.

    thanks

    ds

  2. Post the terminal output, this should help me understand where is your problem.

  4. The issue is arising from the PCM audio track. It should work with AC3. I will handle this case in the forthcoming versions. It seem to encode the video though, you can still convert the audio separately and then mux together video and audio.

  5. sorry to be a pain

    how do i do this?

i have started encoding the file with the "encode video" box unticked, and seeing what happens.

    Is this right?

I am on a bit of a deadline, i am also trying to convert the file on a pc at the same time.

    can i demux with ffmpegx?

    thanks for your help

  6. I don't have any pcm source to test, so I can only advise to use 0SEx to extract the audio track separately, convert it to WAV with something, then use the Mux tool of ffmpegX with the converted .m2v video and the .wav audio.
