  1. Hi all

Is it possible to create a blank .mpv file (static black background) or to "convert" a static image (jpeg, bmp,...) to .mpv?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. It shouldn't be any different than any other MPEG file -- I could create one in a couple of seconds with Premiere by just laying down a black slide and encoding it out.

Are you saying how to create it without video editing tools?

  4. No, Adobe isn't a demux/remuxer -- although tools like VOBedit can do all this stuff easily.

Here's a link to creating VOBs without Premiere (but you do need TMPGEnc Plus, so you'll have to spend money somewhere):

Note that it talks about creating lots of VOBs (and also using them in DVDFab) but I think you'll get the general idea.

  5. Thanks for the info, mkelley, I will have a look.

This is mainly for experimenting purposes, so I didn't intend to spend any cash though.

Just take any static image and load it as the video source in TMPGenc. Set the output to video only and encode.
