  1. Hello everyone. I have ripped a vhs tape to an avi uncompressed file, and then used TMPG to convert to mpg. The resulting mpg is fine with no freezing for frame skipping. When I use Ulead's movie factory 2 to make a dvd from this video, the resulting dvd video will freeze for a split second every minute or so (like a small tear in the video I will see, or a slight hesitation in movement), sometimes a couple times in a minute. My dvd player reads r's and rw's and Ive tried the video on both types of media. The split second freezing seems to be random. Something in the authoring process is causing this. Has anyone come across this problem, or can anyone shed some light? Thanks!

  2. Welp I just tried dvd-lab and it seems to produce fine results. The skipping and freezing is gone, so for some reason Movie Factory 2 can't do the job. I'm trying Movie Factory 1 just to see what happens.

  3. For reliable authoring in DVD MovieFactory 2, I recommend that the Ulead MPEG.Now codec be used instead of 3rd party encoders.

  4. movie factory 1 produces the same freezing up. Apparently tmpg and MF don't go well together.
