Hey folks, I have a small questions.

What happens when one inserts a DVD that was authored as progressive (25fps progressive-scan PAL) into a normal PAL DVD player and attempts to watch the DVD on a PAL television (interlaced) ?

I know that for the NTSC system, you have to add 3:2 pulldown flags for the DVD player to perform 3:2 pulldown on the fly while the DVD is playing hence turning a 24fps progressive NTSC DVD into a 29.97fps interlaced NTSC image.

How does this work for PAL????

I'm in North Am. so I can't just burn a DVD and test it.
