  1. Its giving me lots of problems. When I first got it nothing was working and eventually I got it to burn DVD's but whenever I try to burn audio I would get an error immediately. Now I'm having problems burning anything at all. As soon as it starts to record it immediately stops and gives me and error but nothing was written on the disc at all. I was at 1.0g firmware and I just flashed it to 2.0f and there's no improvement. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

    Really could be many things.

    1) What software are you using to burn ? If it is a ROXIO product then get ready to switch.

    2) Do you have a valid ASPI layer ...More on this if you need help.

    3) I have the 500UL and again, never a burn problem or a play problem and I have 1.0G...so it is not hardware most likely..It is software.

  3. I am using the version of Record Now Max that came with the writer. So do you think it could be the ASPI layer? If so I know nothing about it so you would have to help me with that. Thanks

  5. of you have recognize video_ts and audio_ts as dvd compliant checked in record now max then something could be wrong with your dvd structure and thus it refuses to burn. Anyhoo a description of what the error says would be helpful.

  6. It says that there was an error recording to the disk then when you click to find out more it tells you that the disk may be dirty or corrupted etc and I know that this isn't the problem. One other question, where in my settings do I go to swith to PIO Mode etc because the last time I redid the firm ware I changed that first then did it and the burner worked fine. However, I didn't use it for about 3 weeks or so and went back to use it and got this error again which is the same as I used to get. Therefore maybe if I attempt to do this again it will work again. Thanks.

  7. Ok well I just formatted my computer and I'm still having the same problems, same error etc. So if anyone has any input please help me. I'm pretty sure that I have to chagne the PIO/DMA settings before doing the firmware but I dont remember where that is.
