DVDIT PE creating limited working dvds

ok i needed to fit alot of material good quality on 1 dvd so i used dvdit PE! to create all ac3 audio all worked in my dvd player (apex AD-660) and my girlfriends apex (newer one dont know model number) but NO other ones no other brand names will play this disk and some model numbers in between mine and my girlfriends wont either. now i created the same disc with the same media in spruce up just smaller bitrate and pcm audio before i did this and this also worked in my dvd player but also in a friend of mines who has an older dvd player i think a sony and this will work in his....is there something im doing wrong here? i know all dvd players can play dolby so it cant be solely the audio are there specific bit rates of audio dvd players wont play? ive been making all audio 192kbp/s stereo other then the audio and the software change i dont know what else im doing different.

FYI, SpruceUp will import an .AC3 file with no problem.
