I have 2 versions of a movie here, one original and one german dubbed. I encoded the german version just fine on one XVCD using more or less the VCD PAL presets (Adjusted the bitrate to fit on 99m mode 1 CD). Then I tried the same with the original with the same settings. When trying to mux the files the app quits. Looking at the video and audio I see that the video is 863 MB big and the Audio about 150 MB. That's too big. The whole file was supposed to be just 870. And with the grman version movie it worked. I tried to mux them manually. It worked but the file is too big and the sound totally asynchronous (sp?). Can it be that I have to use the VCD NTSC setting? Or what else could be the problem?

The source movie is 29.97 fps. So I tried to use the NTSC VCD setting.
But I get this error:
**ERROR: [mpeg2enc] Input stream with unknown frame-rate and no frame-rate specified with -a!
The video encoding doesn't happen and it starts the sound encoding.
Note that all I changed was from PAL VCD (which worked basically but produced a file too big and out of synch sound) to NTSC VCD. As for the bitrate settings: I use the bitrate calculator.

Grrr...
Now with 0.0.7a I get this:

Is there a 0.0.7b?

What program do I use to make a small clip from that kind of AVI? (See description in error meg. above)QuikTime won't handle it well...

Interestingly I get the same error when trying to use the VCD (NTSC) preset to recode a MPG1 muxed video to VCD (yes it's already in VCD format, but I can't burn it to CD for some reason, probably because it was joined from 50 pieces).
Anyway, get the same error with 0.0.7a, but it works flawlessly with 0.0.6g (which luckily I kept when I upgraded yesterday):
