Hey guys hows it going. I used Magic DVD Ripper to rip my movie Heat. It took over 8 hours for it to do it but it did do it. It seems rather huge though it is 1.52 GB is that right or can I get it smaller without lose of quality ?? Thanx for the replys

What would be a recommended bitrate so that the movie still looks good

What codec? DivX/XviD? ~1000 kbps. mpg? ~not less than 4000 kbps

Use Target Quantizer encoding. Pick the quality (quantizer) you want. The video will get exactly the right bitrate at every frame to deliver that quality.
