  1. Hello,

I've been trying to encode a file to SVCD (with TMPGEnc), but it came with an odd framerate of 24.997 fps and every tima I try to convert it the sound gets out of sinc.

First, I'd like to highlight that the tools I have are VirtualDub and TMPGEnc

    Things I've already tried:
    - extract the audio with VirtualDUB to an uncompressed WAV and use TMPGEnc to encode it as usual (as described on one of the guides on this very site)
    - encode viedo and audio in two different files and multiplex it later with MPEG tools on TMPGEnc

    The audio allways gets desync.
I also have to split the movie so I can fit it into 2 SVCDs.

Could anyone here provide any hint on this subject?

  2. Do you mean the source file has a fps of 24.997?

If so you need to do a proper framerate conversion. Search the forum and guides for info on Pal to NTSc conversion (or vice versa). The framerates may be different but the basic techniques will be the same.
