I have MovieFactory 2, but everytime I try to author my own DVD from some avi files that I have, it can't be read. Is this a codec problem? And does anyone know where I can download the Ulead MPEG.now codec?

i will be interested in this also as everytime I try to load and AVI files into MF2 it crashes. Works fine with MpegII files made from Tempgenc though.

  3. Doesn't MF2 already come with the MPEG.now encoder?

  4. All of the newer Ulead applications, including DVD MovieFactory 2, use the MPEG.Now codec.

Your issue seems to be unrelated to the Ulead MPEG.Now codec.

Instead, I would be curious to know the specific attributes of the .avi files you are using.

For example, my version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 accepts my DV .avi files without any difficulties.

The literature that accompanies the product explains that DVD MovieFactory 2 is designed to work routinely with files captured from mini DV camcorders via Firewire and OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 host controllers.

The attributes of my DV .avi files are as follows:

    24 Bits, 720 x 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps
    Field Order A
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

In your Ulead DVD MovieFactory software, you can right mouse click on clips in the timeline and select MEDIA CLIP PROPERTIES.

This will tell you the attributes of your .avi files.

I'm curious - what are the attributes of your .avi files?

    How did you obtain them?
