NO CD WRITER/READER FOUND OR ASPI DRIVER PROBLEM (ALL GRAY!)

I have been doing this for a while and have learned a lot from this site. Since I upgraded to XP, I am having a problem with vcdeasy. I have read all the forums I could to find my problem.

When open vcd message says no cd writer/reader found or ASPI driver problem. I used force and fixed that no my writer and reader are gray. Why?

well. fixed my problem. I have downloaded to xp. When you do that you neet to download and aspi. I downloaded aspi v4.7 and it actually hurt my more than helped me. if you have aspi (adaptec) then all you need is ASPIPOST.SYS and wnaspi32.dll. They say that you do not need WOWPOST.EXE and WINASPI.DLL. Now I do not know if that is true. But,anyway what I did to fix my problem was uninstall aspi (adaptec)4.7 and download aspi(adaptec) v4.6 restarted my computer and boob it worked. Do not know what the hek the difference is but, it worked. Hope I help some people out

I find that ForceASPI generally works better than the Adaptec installer...

I don't know if I should do this here, but kudos to all the mods. 15 min after Chodaro's post, you have read and responded. I don't know how the hell you guys do it. I spend hours reading the "latest"

ok, I do not know if this is happening because of me changing adaptec 4.7 to 4.6 but, ever since it is giving me files instead of playing on my computer. I know, I know don't be picky,but, it does play on my dvd player. But, ever since I upgraded I've had all these problems!
UPGRADING WAS MY HUSBAND'S IDEA AND HE DOESN'T EVEN USE THE DARN THING!!!

What burner and burning program are you using. I built a new machine for a girl, and EZCD 5.0 would not recognize her 48X LiteOn. It needed updated to 5.3, even tho' 4.02 did recognize it.

I just use vcdeasy. download,virualdub,tmpgenc,then vcdeasy. It just seams that ever since I downloaded xp it's not working how it use to. Don't get my wrong, It is still working on my home dvd player and that's what really matters to me, but, I just didn't understand why I had to change so much on vcdeasy. I have been making movies for a long time now and I owe it all to the forum and the tech support guy site. I read and read for weeks figured everthing out then it all made sence.
