Forgive me if this has already been answered somewhere else...
I have a few downloaded Xvids (3 to date) and they play perfectly in windows media player for exactly 6 minutes and then the sound goes silent. Stopping the movie and restarting it doesn't restore the sound, but closing the media player and restarting it does. Hence to watch the movies I have to restart WMP every 6 minutes and FF to where I just was ! If I try to play the movies in DivX 2.0 the sound is all scrambled and if I make VCDs with nero from them the sound is absent for the whole movie. I have lots of other movies in various other formats and these all play fine. Any suggestions ?
Fash.

use gspot in tools section to see what codecs you need and whether you already have them installed on your machine.

okay, tried that and ran through the render button etc, everything came back as okay... vids still play for 6 mins then the sound disappears... just out of interest i tried playing them on winamp 3 too, same thing happens... exactly 6 minutes of audio and video, then audio silent, video continues running okay... is this some kind of copy protection system ? someone else must have come across this problem !
