So you're telling us to convert DVD->Divx then Divx->VCD??? I don't get it, if you want to use ffmpegX, then why not use only ffmpegX, why bring Forty-Two into the picture? I personally love Forty-Two and believe that it is the best program for VCD/SVCD creation.

  4. everey time I try to rip from dvd to vcd(using forty two) it seems to go al right, but the vcd conversion initially says 8 or so hours, then imediatly finishses. it says its all right, but produces a 2-6 meg .bin file, not exactly working for me. i thought that other people might have had the same problem, so i made a tutorial about it.
    just my two cents

I had that problem too, but it was because I had deleted one of the required libraries that Forty-Two used. But other than that I've never had Forty-Two do anything I wasn't expecting.

  7. I've downloaded forty-two and it looks really great, but it just doesn't work, it doesn't play a sample and when it goes further it just rips the dvd and when he normally would start converting it stops.

Does anybody know what to do with this?

    Thanks

  9. I have the problem when I want to convert to VCD, I haven't tried anything else yet. I use an eMac 700Mhz with 512 MB RAM.

    Do you have a solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Uninstall forty-two.

download the forty-two full install 1.5 (older link look down the list for it)

Install the app, and run the other installer, engine build or something like that, its been a while since ive done this (there are two installers you need to run)

Now, download the latest updater 1.5.2 which is just a disk image that houses the .app file that you drag and drop over to your applications folder and click REPLACE when prompted.

Not having the program installed properly is typically the main cause of these errors.

Other causes can be you're dvd. I get LOTS of errors on dvd-rs and NONE on commercial DVD.s

Other than that, id say address the question to chris whose email is seen in the read me file (which is important to read )

hope this helps. I say this because i had errors like you all are getting and reinstalling the program the way I just said seemd to correct it.
