    Hi all, I'm new

I'm having trouble with a conversion you may know how to help with.

I have a DVD which I'm ripping using Handbrake. This either comes out at m4v or can choose avi, mkv or ogm.

After I rip it I need to import it into Flash, then create a .flv with Flash for use on a website.

Problem is, Flash doesn't like importing m4v, and I thought I'd solved it by using .avi but the video has just come out as a blank white screen...

Any ideas? I'd rather use free software or the software I have...

    Edited: I meant m4v not mp4

mp4 with h264 video and aac audio is supported by flash, so see if you can convert to it directly in handbrake(m4v and mp4 is usually the same). No need to convert to flv then. See some mp4 flash examples in https://forum.videohelp.com/topic355179.html

I do need to get them to .flv for this particular website... it's a CMS module add on and it only recognises .flv unfortunately (making things a pain for me!)

And Flash doesn't like importing mp4 (doesn't see it a a video file, it only likes things like avi and mov it seems).

I'm currently giving http://media-convert.com/ a go, I've converted stuff with it before it just doesn't like huge files sometimes so will see if this works.

I would then convert the dvd to avi or mov using avidemux or mpeg streamclip. Use a video codec that doesn't compress it so much like mjpeg, huffyuv, dv and wav/pcm audio.

Or convert dvd to flv directly using avidemux or xvid4psp, but the quality may not be as good as if you use the flash professional and using h264 video.

I tried using streamclip the other day but it kept telling me I needed to buy something from Apple to convert mp4's (I think it was mp4)
