    Two programs: TMPGEnc and VCDEasy.

To encode your XviD video to a SVCD format, read here.

To burn your SVCD formatted video read here.

Try dowloading and installing the ffdshow codec. It has allowed me to see Xvid's clearly. You get it at the left in the tools section.

    Goodluck,

You do not change settings at first when you use TMPGEnc. Launch TMPGEnc, close the wizard if it opens. Load your video, select the name of your output file, select the Load button at the bottom of the screen. This broings up a list of templates. Select the SVCD template ("SuperVideoCD(NTSC).mcf", or "SuperVideoCD(PAL).mcf"), then select Start. Change no settings here, unless the video turns wrong.

I know this seems a little frustrating at first, but while you are encoding your video read the newbie guides, and since you are converting video, read also the conversion guide here.
    Hello.

  11. Use the SuperVideoCD(NTSCFILM) template. This is assuming that you live in a region 1 location. If you are in the U.K. then use the PAL format. According to one of the moderators (Adam) TMPG will do an internal 3:2 pulldown which is needed to play on your DVD player (again assuming you live in a region 1 location.)

  13. Jeez man, sounds like you need calm down some.

Learning to convert to svcd takes a lot of time and experimentation. Even with all of the experts out here, you just have to do some work yourself. It took me between three to six months to understand enough about the process to do a good job.

Suggestion: If you are in that much of a hurry and it is a huge emergency just go to Blockbuster and rent the stupid thing.

BTW, talking about how to copy movies that you do not own and giving their names is not allowed on this board. It is illegal

    well put

enice177, LSX and CCE are going to take you quite a while to get the hang of, and I doubt anyone here is going to be persuaded by your ranting to write a 'guide for dummies' for them just for you.

Use the templates in TMPGEnc (which make things very easy for you). If your source is an Xvid from the web, the difference between the settings (and the different encoders for that matter) is not going to be that noticeable, as the source is so highly compressed in the first place.

follow the link and read, If I write it down for you or you look in the guides that have already covered this your still gonna have to read it.

Most XviDs are 23.976fps you can try making a SVCD at this frame rate but coffee coasters is all you'll get. Most modern Standalone DVD players will read 25fps PAL and 24fps NTSC. Your PC DVD drive wont care what the frame rate is it has plenty of resources to correct this but standalone players have very defined bounderies based upon standards.
You need to read the XviD to SVCD guide you may also want to read the converting the frame rate guide.
There is not one program that will load the file make the file and burn the file without any prior knowledge except the Nero Plugin but its crap.
Making Mpeg2 video takes time in itself and plenty of reading so you need to adopt some patience, read the guides and try whats best for you.
