Whats up all, I need some help using adobe premiere. Is there a way where I can set how long the capture is going to be? For example if I wanted to tape a show thats 1 hour is there some way that I can set premiere so that it just captures 1 hour. This way I can leave while its recording. Thanks for your help

no. as far as i know there are no timers. you can tell it to capture a certain part of your mini dv or 8 mm tape but thats not a timer per se. it just allows you to set a marker at the begin pooint and the end point and then itll capture it.
i assume you mean a tv show and in that case no. but there are apps that can do it so maybe ask -
Yes, the poster is substantially right. If you are capturing via DV or other firewire device then you can set the time limit, in seconds, for a capture. At the end of this time the DV device will be turned off and capture will stop.
But if you're using an analog to DV converter, such as the Hollywood Bridge, there is no DV control and thus no way to stop the capture. I think this is a problem with Premiere, since the obvious intent to was be able to capture only a certain amount of time, and my hunch is it will be fixed in 7.0."Like a knife, he cuts through life, like every day's his last" -- Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
