  1. Hi

    This is my first post.

I'm trying to convert DVD to MPEG-1

I have the software DVD-to-MPEG and I find it freezes my pc half way through encoding (pc is Parkard Bell Le Diva (similar to a laptop)) so I use SmartRipper 2.41 to copy DVD to a Firewire drive and then use DVD-to-MPEG on anoter pc.

This works fine except on some DVDs

On the DVD Fawlty Towers series 2 which has three episodes per disc (2discs) when I use my above method I cant seem to encode more that one episode.

Same thing on Steely Dan 2vN DVD only get abour 20mins encoded.

How do I encode the entitre 3 episodes and the entire Steely Dan 2vN DVD ?

    any help appreciated

    Also, I have a Philips 890 DVD+R/+RW recorder.

    I would like to encode the DVD+R & DVD+RW (TV programs) I have made on Datawrite 2.4 speed DVD+RW & DVD+R to MPEG-1

    Is this what I need-http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000089RSI/ref=sr_aps_electronics_1_1/202-9417878-9924652 ?

Will the process work with one of these with my homemade DVD+R / DVD+RW to MPEG-1

    I live in the UK

    Any help MUCH appreciated

    Nigel

    ps
The reason why I want MPEG-1 is so I can then convert to MP4 and then watch video on my Sony Ericsson P800 mobile smart phone (which I highly recommend)
