Hi, folks.
I'm trying to convert an avi (with ac3 sound) into a vcd. I'm converting the sound into a WAV file first, as usual, but every time I put it through Headac3che I get the error message: "Bad syncword at frame 30054! The AC3 stream is probably corrupt."
As an alternative, I got the AC3 codec and then put it all through Goldwave instead. I thought it worked fine. But when I played the vcd, the sound slipped out of sync about half way through. There's no point in manually adjusting the sync, as that would throw it out for the first half instead of the second.
I downloaded AC3FIX in an attempt to correct the corrupted stream but I cannot seem to open it. A DOS box flashes up for a fraction of a second and then it all disappears. What do I do? (I'm running a PIII 933, with WIN 98SE and 383mb ram). There doesn't seem to be a README file and I can't seem to find any help on the forum. If the answer has already been posted, please direct me to it.
Many thanks in advance to any patient helpers!
